Beginning
in 2000, The National Association of African Americans for
Positive Imagery will send an electronic newsletter to its
affiliates, members and friends. For those who are not on
the Internet, the information is faxed.
The newsletter covers issues related to alcohol, tobacco and
marijuana use, abuse and imagery in the Black community, and
the positive and negative ways that African Americans are
portrayed in mass media, entertainment and advertising. Words
to the Wise is designed as a venue for new ideas, provide
updates on what is happening with NAAAPI and its affiliates
at the grassroots level around the country, and include a
calendar of upcoming events. The NAAAPI newsletter will be
sent bi-monthly. Special alerts will continue to be sent with
breaking news or on major campaigns.
Readers
are invited to submit materials for inclusion in "Words
to the Wise" . NAAAPI reserves the right to edit submissions
for space and clarity. Send information for "Words to
the Wise" to the NAAAPI editor at naaapi@msn.com.
